ABOUT

Max-Josef Schönborn was born in 1994 and currently resides in Potsdam near Berlin (Germany). At a young age, he has already made a name for himself in the film industry as a talented production designer. He is constantly seeking out exciting national and international projects to work on.

Currently, Max-Josef is writing his master's thesis at the Film University Babelsberg. Whilst he was still studying, he had the opportunity to work on production designs for series for both German public broadcasters and international channels. His work on various projects during his studies gained attention in Germany and around the world.

One of his most significant accomplishments was "Laika&Nemo" (where he made the prodution design of) winning the Student Academy Award in Silver in 2022.  He was also nominated, along with Josefine Lindner, for the German Film Award for the scene design of "The Ordinaries."

Max-Josef's interest in storytelling is fueled by his fascination with the diversity and complexity of different milieus. He is particularly interested in exploring the potential for character development through nuanced and empathetic portrayals of human experience. As a production designer, he is equally interested in exploring traditional and contemporary film techniques, always seeking to push the boundaries of his craft and learn something new with every project.

With his passion, talent, and dedication, Max-Josef Schönborn is an exciting collaborator for any international filmmaker looking to bring fresh perspective and depth to their project.
